It was really great meeting all of you and getting acquainted last week. This week I have several things planned. I'd like everyone to choose a poem for the class competition level of Poetry Out Loud. Be sure to peruse the anthology page.
I also plan to finish reviewing the reading diagnostic test you took last week. We'll also be doing some review of the parts of speech and practice in our grammar workbooks as well as beginning the first unit in vocabulary, so be sure to bring those workbooks to class each day.
As for literature, we will continue reading The Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass and discussing it in class. Be prepared to be quizzed on the novel or on any of the grammar or vocabulary we study this week.
