APEnglish (APE) Summer Reading
For those of you who will be in my AP Literature class next year, don't forget that you have three novels to read and prepare Major Works Data Sheets (MWDS) for:
The Stranger Camus
Invisible Man Ellison
Wuthering Heights Bronte
Below you will find links to a blank MWDS and to my Moodle page, where you should upload your completed sheets, and to a page that discusses Existentialism in brief. The Existentialism page should help you in your understanding of Camus' The Stranger. In addition to these sheets, I would like for you to come prepared for class discussion on each of these novels. Find the passages that intrigue you most or for which you have questions that you would like to pose to the class, and bring them with you to class the first day.
Bonus: What do you call all those ands in the first sentence after the book list, and what is the purpose of using them instead of commas?
